Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to confirm that the completion date is 9th of October, and we expect no less from the contractor because the contract period was for 18 months. As we speak today, there are a few months to go for him to complete the work. If the contractor defaults on this, there are, of course, the necessary penalties that go with it. But we expect him to complete his work by 9th October.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would really like to seek the indulgence of the House that, since we are going to prepare a detailed report in conjunction with the Departmental Committee, I would rather that we answer this at that time. Mr. Speaker, Sir, they may have requested for much more, but what was available and what was allocated was Kshs67 million. I would like to request the hon. Member to appreciate that this is the starting point and that there are also similar demands in other parts of the country. However, the fact that his is fairly advanced is a good step in the right direction. However, there is room for expansion in this market in future.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I was just trying to be prudent in terms of giving the House information that can be meaningful, because I do not, for instance, have a list of all the individual markets throughout the Republic with me here. This is because I was focusing on the Question by Mr. Nyamai.

Mr. Speaker, Sir, I think it is fair because I have requested that since the Departmental Committee on Local Authorities is seized with this matter and we are preparing a joint report, it would be a neater way to present this matter to the House.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish to seek the indulgence of the House. Indeed, I have consulted the hon. Questioner. I request that the House allows me to prepare a thorough statement because the information I have is still inadequate. So, I will be able to give a comprehensive response on Tuesday, 26th July, 2011.
