It is projected that by 2050, or even earlier, say, by 2034, we could have as much as 60 to 70 per cent of our population living in urban areas. We have to expand the tax base, so that we bring in more people to pay tax. We also have to intensify alternative dispute resolution mechanisms. So far, this has yielded very good results where billions of shillings that have been locked in disputes are now being unlocked by the Kenya Revenue Authority. This is a message that all of us need to be alive to. It is not a personal agenda or vendetta against anybody. Parliament has a broad mandate.
