I am glad to have been elected the Vice-Chair of the Committee. We had a very strong team that worked very well. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, US$700 million is a lot of money by any standards. Kenya Airways requires this amount as an injection of capital to be revived and thrive. When a country spends that kind of money on a company, then it must demand that at some point, at the end of the tunnel, there must be some light and a ... view

  • 2 Dec 2015 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, Sorry. Perhaps, I did not express myself sufficiently. The first thing I did was to condole with the family of Alex Madaga and, indeed, sympathized with my brother, Sen. Khaniri. view

  • 1 Dec 2015 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, whereas I appreciate that Sen. Keter is not yet a Cabinet Secretary, the day he will become a Cabinet Secretary, he will not step into this House. What other opportunity would we have, at least, to congratulate the nominee, if not the Cabinet Secretary, for being the first Senator to be nominated to be a Cabinet Secretary? We are not sure which position is more superior to the other, but nonetheless, I think it is an opportunity for us to tell Sen. Keter that we wish him well. We hope that he will become a better ... view

The Central Bank has been given a way forward by the directors of the Imperial Bank including the reopening of this bank so that the 54, 000 account holders do not suffer. The proposal that has been given by the directors is that they are willing to put in Kshs 10 billion to salvage the bank. The shareholders ... view
