  • 3 Nov 2021 in Senate: That is exactly what I am saying that the Government does not do any public participation on the quality of education. They want to introduce strange things. In CBC, for example, they are sending your poor children in Migingo to go and google things with their parents at home. They have trained the teachers, but the parents are not trained. It is possible that some of them live with grandparents who do not have gadgets. So, there is a problem. It is not about whether it is chess, badminton or any other game. It is not about an expensive game, ... view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, Sen. Ngugi is not a young Senator. He is a distinguished Senator. Sen. (Dr.) Musuruve should refer to him with his right title. The only leeway is where we have distinguished nephews and others. That is where we have given some distinctions. view
  • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Thank you, Madam Deputy Speaker. I rise to seek a Statement on the directive by the Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage to the Sports Registrar to undertake an inspection of Football Kenya Federation (FKF) and disbursement and administration of funds from the Sports, Art and Social Development Fund during the Financial Year 2019/20 to date. • 2 Nov 2021 in Senate: Madam Deputy Speaker, this Statement is serious and it is unfortunate. Sen. Sakaja and I support the AFC Leopards team. While we were growing up, there were international matches at St. Kwitkoi in 1986. I think we have never been at this state since Independence because we cannot hold an international match in any stadium in the country. Madam Deputy Speaker, I requested for a Statement on Wote Stadium, which was supposed to be completed in 2018. Up to now, they are still arguing about growing of grass, irrigation and the pavilion. Meanwhile, Kshs200 Million has already been spent through ... view

  • 21 Oct 2021 in Senate: the 30 per cent rule of not only Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) but even hiring people from other counties and tribes. For purposes of this, the Committee led by Sen. Shiyonga should ideally give us a report on this. The requirement under the law is that the information ought to be available. We sympathize with Migori but, unfortunately, all governors are doing the same thing. view
  • 21 Oct 2021 in Senate: Thank you Madam Temporary Speaker. view
  • 21 Oct 2021 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, we urge you to review your ruling. Although this is a labour related issue, the question ought to be addressed through the Ministry of Equalization and the Committee led by Sen. Shiyonga. That is where the information should ideally go to, and that is where it should be found. We urge you to revise and review that ruling in that regard. view
