  • 10 Nov 2022 in Senate: Thank you Mr. Speaker, Sir. I support the Statement by Sen. Munyi Mundigi from Embu County who has brought a very pertinent issue on Muguka. view
  • 10 Nov 2022 in Senate: is a crop just like any other; coffee, tea or mnazi. It should be accorded the very respect that we accord other crops. We have thousands of people in Tharaka Nithi, Embu and Meru Counties whose livelihood depend on Muguka and Miraa. I dispute the allegations by Mombasa County Senator that Muguka is a drug. I would advise Sen. Faki to bring a legislation to outlaw Muguka through my Committee, because I am the Chair of the Committee on Delegated Legislation. I am sure it is not going to see the light of the day. So, I believe Muguka and ... view

  • 10 Nov 2022 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this bridge serves a number of counties, all the way from North Eastern, Marsabit, Isiolo, Meru, Embu and Tharaka-Nithi. It is a national disaster. I am happy that the Senator for Meru County brought up this issue. I urge the Committee on Roads and Transportation, to move with speed and find a way to ensure this bridge is redesigned in order to save lives. I remember during his campaigns, the President promised that in his first 100 days, the Nithi Bridge will be redesigned. I trust his word. I am sure this will be prioritised once the ... view
  • 9 Nov 2022 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have known Eng. Koome for the last 31years. For the first time in Kenyan history, the Police Service is going to get an experienced officer who has risen through the ranks. view

  • 9 Nov 2022 in Senate: Eng. Koome joined the police force among the first graduates. He has traversed the country in various stations. He has undertaken his responsibility as a police officer excellently, away from other police commissioners that we have seen, who have had some breaks from the police force. We are expecting - and it is our hope - that we are going to get some very good services from him. This is so considering that for the first time, he is taking over the police service when there is some element of autonomy. If you can remember, the other day, His Excellency ... view
  • 8 Nov 2022 in Senate: Bw. Bw. Spika, naunga mkono na tunawatakia mema ... view
  • 27 Oct 2022 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am shocked beyond repair. I do not understand where this Commission gets its powers from because it has stepped on everybody’s toes; the civil servants, Legislators and MCAs. I have been an MCA for 10 years. On voting day, Kenyans usually vote for six people. However, the MCA carries the biggest burden because he is always at home and interacts with constituents or voters. They are a serious local Automated Teller Machine (ATM), as the National Assembly Speaker used to say. So, striking off the allowances and mortgages from MCAs is a crime ... view
  • 27 Oct 2022 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for your intervention. I promise this House that we will do as expected. When you see this Commission before us, expect some changes from us. We will make some serious, radical recommendations. I support. view
