• 1 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: haya kwa sababu wakati uchaguzi unapofanyika na wakati kura zinapopigwa, hali inarudi sawa na Serikali inahitaji kutoa huduma kwa mtu bila kubagua kama alipiga kura ama hakupiga au alikupigia kura ama hakukupigia kura. Ni jukumu lako kama kiongozi kumhudumia kwa njia mwafaka ndio maana yeye ni mwananchi wa Kenya na anaongozwa na Katiba ya Jamhuri ya Kenya. view

Tumeona vijana wetu wa boda boda wametia juhudi na nimeona pia baadhi ya watu wanaosajili kura wamejitoa kutoka yale mashule waliokuwa wamekita kambi kuhakikisha ya kwamba wanasajili. Sisi kama wakaazi wa Pwani, mara nyingi masuala kama haya hayajaenda sawa kwa sababu watu wamesema eti kura zetu ni chache. Ninataka niwahakikishie kuwa safari hii mambo yamegeuka. Watu wataendelea kujiandikisha kura kwa sababu pia nasi tunataka kuongeza uzito wetu katika masuala ya kisiasa ya kitaifa. Kwa hivyo, Hoja hii ni muhimu. • 31 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. Let me say, at the outset, that I support the Hydrologists Bill, 2016. The question surrounding water is critical to this nation. In our Constitution, water is more of a shared function between the national Government and the county governments. • 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: I come from Kilifi County where the preference in terms of sexual offences is quite high. If you walk into any police station today, you will find that there are very many cases relating to sexual offences. If you also walk into our courts, right from my constituency to Malindi Constituency, you will find that the entire court list is made up of sexual offences. If you walk to our prisons today, you will find very many boys, some convicted while others still in remand for these offences. view
• 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Before the passage of the parent law on sexual offences it used to be a free- for-all world. I remember before 2001, you would find very many offences being committed in the villages and in rural areas but nothing was being done. Today, at least with the passage of that law, we realize that there is sanity in the manner in which some of these things are being done. However, the challenges that exist, I believe will be taken care of by some provisions we now find in the new amendment law. view
• 25 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: That is why as I was going through this amendment Bill, I was interested with Section 40C which seeks to talk about public awareness. I think we seriously need to look at ways in which we can prevent some of these things. This is because depending on where you are, there are times when the parents of the boy who is probably a suspect of having committed a sexual offence will come to you.
