Airline service agreements are purposed to aid the liberalisation of the international aviation market, which is generally desirable, bringing the benefits of the aviation industry to the customers and to a wider economy. Conventionally, airline services agreements are mindful of issues around international relations, sovereignty, infrastructure capacity, fairness and labour interest. The ratification of these bilateral air service agreements will, among others, increase routes and capacity of our national carrier to new destinations like Greece, Finland, Burkina Faso and Cambodia; increase route competition and ... view
  • 8 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this important Bill. It intends to modernise ownership of sectional properties in Kenya, recognising the increased demand for affordable housing, mixed use and master plan communities as well as efficient mortgage transactions. Among other things, the Bill creates an enabling environment for investors and property owners by guaranteeing rights of property owners by conferring absolute rights to them. It provides a mechanism to the closure of the mother title or head lease. This vests absolute right on the individual unit owner as they can then deal ... view

  • 6 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Bill. The ASAL areas suffer a lot because of drought. Once we have drought, our animals die and we suffer from malnutrition. Once we establish this fund, I am sure the people from the ASAL areas will benefit. The Bill proposes to align the fund with the Public Finance Management Act 2012. This is in relation to matters relating to preparation and admission of Budget Estimates, preparation and submission of accounts for audit, raising of revenue, expenditure and management of public funds. • 25 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I do not know a lot about maritime, but I did a bit of research. There are threats in the Western Indian Ocean Region such as Illegal unregulated fishing, piracy and armed robbery in the sea, and regulated exploitation of maritime resources within the States’ territorial sea and exclusive economic zones. To reduce or suppress these challenges, we need a coordinated approach. The Agreement provides a framework for the conduct of a joint coordinated operation between the Western Indian Ocean States. It also provides a framework for coordinated search and rescue of persons operating ... view
  • 24 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. Kenyans are hardworking people and many of them are exporters and importers. They import and export to different parts of the world, but when containers arrive in Kenya the customs people delay them and this really frustrates traders. view
  • 24 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: There are also those who export herbs and face challenges like traffic jam and delay of airlines. Recent reports indicate that the country’s trade deficit has persisted despite the slowdown of imports. The economists said the high trade deficit will slow down employment opportunities for our educated youths. view
