  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to ask the CS for Education the following Question: (a) Could the Cabinet Secretary provide the number of requests received for registration of schools, both primary and secondary schools in the country, and whose consideration and approval is pending? (b) Are there measures by the Ministry to ensure that the registration process for schools is carried out without undue delays? view
  • 8 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. Like my able Chairman has mentioned, all these nominees are very competent. I would not like to add much. Just allow me to say that on Sarah Serem, there is a softer side about her that colleagues in the Committee appreciated and which should inform the decision we are going to make today. She is not only a woman of Christian values, but she actually runs a children’s home in Kajiado that takes care of more than 200 destitute children. • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. Hon. Chris Wamalwa has literally said what I intended to say. However, allow me to say that I agree with Hon. Limo’s Report. As a House, let us be very cautious in future when such names come in. view

  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: when it appointed Dr. Ben Chumo and Ms. Sarah Serem. We shall lose two people from my community. I do not want to speak as a Kalenjin but as a leader from one community. view
  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Duale mentioned something here. He prepared the mood of the House. Even as Members go to the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations, they seemed to have in their minds that the name of Ms. Sarah Serem should not appear. view
  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: I am trying to answer what Hon. Duale asked. view
  • 25 Jul 2018 in National Assembly: It is okay, Hon. Speaker. This House has talked about precedence. In November 2013, this House approved Hon. Mututho when he had an active case in court. Why then do we want to seek a departure when it comes to Dr. Ben Chumo? That is what I am questioning. Let us view individuals on the basis of what they have done, their careers and what they can give to this country, but not on the basis of being selective in terms of the lenses we use to view people. view
