(a) Yes, I am aware that the Municipal Council of Nakuru changed the shareholding of Nakuru Water and Sanitation Services Company by increasing the number of shares held by council officials. A general meeting of the company held in February, 2006, also increased the number of directors in the Board of Directors. However, these changes have not been filed with the Registrar of Companies. • 12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have been very clear in my answer that Nakuru Water and Sanitation Services Company is registered under the Companies Act as a private company limited by shares. That is why we did not stop them from doing whatever they did. As I said, the company must comply with the provisions of the Companies Act by ensuring those changes. Up to now, the Registrar of Companies cannot revoke anything until those changes are filed. However, up to now, they have not been filed. view
  • 12 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is the office that is a shareholder, but not individual councillor. Those are offices. For example, the mayoral shareholder is an office. The chairman of a committee in the council is also an office. view

  • 27 Mar 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I am sure you have heard the former Minister for Education talk about the issue of school fees and yet, during his tenure, he never gave bursaries outside his constituency. Is he in order to mislead this House when he was taking away Kshs800 million every year? view
  • 22 Mar 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I do not want to interrupt Capt. Nakitare while making his contribution, but you heard him mention the names of some people from Mt. Elgon. What is happening in Mt. Elgon is a matter of national concern. Many people have lost their lives and they will continue doing so. Could the hon. Member table the evidence against the three people that he has mentioned, that he feels are the ones inciting the residents of the area? view
  • 7 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the hon. Member in order to mislead this House that it is the Government which is splitting parties when he knows very well that when KANU was in power, the FORD was split into three political parties by the Government he was serving namely: FORD(P), FORD(K) and FORD(A)? view
