  • 31 Jul 2019 in National Assembly: So, I support that this Bill continues in its current form. But I need to urge this House not to run away from its obligations of taking forth the challenges to ensure that we own the selection panel. Thank you. view
  • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me an opportunity to contribute to this extremely momentous Bill. At the outset, I want to paint a picture of hope for Kenya; a picture of the aspirations of this nation. Currently, food production in this country is under threat because a lot of the inputs are expensive due to their industry-driven nature. A lot of inputs are expensive because they are imported. Inefficiencies from various sectors have also contributed to the cost of inputs. The clothing that we wear is at the rudimentary level for basic needs for Kenyans. We are ... view
  • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: way, we will be able to increase our investments through the savings that we are making for each and every individual so that we can grow our per capita income. We want to draw a picture of a future where no single household in Kenya will have a deficit of power. All Kenyans will be able to provide for their families in terms of meals. We want power that is seamless so that we do not say villagers should go to sleep by 6.30 p.m. or 7.00 p.m. because they can no longer see each other or because there are ... view
  • 25 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: education institutions. We have enough mechanism of having a very robust Parliament which I have the privilege and honour to serve in, and which will be able to continuously enact amendments to be able to look at the changing phases. We have the Departmental Committee on Energy which has visited twelve counties in Kenya to have an effective public participation and to take into concern every single comment by Kenyans to know what nuclear energy is. By reading the HANSARD, I remember the day we were trying to evacuate hydro power from Jinja to Kenya and there was hue and ... view

  • 27 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: I thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I rise to support the Chair in this amendment. Any tribunal is like a judicial institution, which has to go through the ranks. This will be a clear conflict on the hierarchy within the Judiciary. view

  • 20 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I am sure we are going to pass the appointment of Prof. Magoha but I want to speak to the opportunities which are ahead of us as a country in the education sector. It is imperative that Prof. Magoha leads an able renaissance within the African region. We had universities like the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and Moi University offering programmes all the way to Nigeria. (Technical hitch) Countries like Seychelles have greatly benefitted from our teachers. Kenyan teachers went to revamp the entire education sector in Seychelles and Malaysia. This needs to ... view

  • 20 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: ourselves a global view knowing that we are benchmarking with the best in the world. We should start to reverse the trend where a lot of people are moving to private schools. We should encourage students from Tanzania, Uganda and Rwanda to study in our schools. This will propel our Diaspora earnings. We need a lot of remittances in Kenya and the amount of money pumped into the education sector over the years in terms of investment is colossal. We must see this big return by having our students all over our counties sharing facilities with our neighbours. This will ... view
