  • 17 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. May I also comment on this wonderful nomination which has been made by his Excellency the President after a very detailed interview and observation which has been made by the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs (JLAC). When I went through these Reports, it came to my mind that JLAC did a lot of work. This might be because they were from recess. This is wonderful. The Report tells us what JLAC and the President thought in appointing Archbishop Wabukala to this Commission. Many Members of Parliament and I who ... view

  • 17 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: came to this House and gave us a wonderful address on issues of corruption in this country. I now agree that this House should give the President support. I think the President is prepared to deal with corruption that is in this country properly. I am convinced that the Archbishop has grown in church until he was at the top of the Anglican Church. What he also needs is for us as leaders and Members of Parliament to support him. We know he can eliminate corruption. We know them. We can always tell him that so and so--- Hon. Speaker, ... view

  • 30 Nov 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. Hon. Lusweti has seen it wise that we talk about management of resources in our primary schools. We must guide the country on that matter. I would like to ask the Government to continue pumping money into the FPE Programme. The Government should also look for ways of increasing the allocation to primary schools for effective management of basic education. The Government must employ bursars in our primary schools. I heard Hon. Okoth say that there are schools with student populations of about ... view
  • 30 Nov 2016 in National Assembly: time a child is sent home to go and bring money to do a test or get books in the school. Even the parents do not feel that there is free education. I advise both sides of this House, Jubilee and the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD), that we should come together to help the Government. They are pouring money and people who are supposed to use this money misuse it by pretending that nobody will check. When we put bursars in these schools, they will be accountable and the Government will have a chance of checking how money ... view
  • 29 Nov 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity so that I can also contribute to the very important Bill in this House on national honours. I support this Bill because it is very important to our education, country, the nationals of this country and how our country has been governed up to this time. While I support the Bill, I would like something to be added. A committee, commission or a task force should be formed so that it can look at how our country has been and how we have lived with our people. It should ... view
  • 29 Nov 2016 in National Assembly: come to this country and what they would do for our people. These leaders fought the white people who had weapons. They killed very many people in the late 1890s. We need to write a book on this so that our children and our people can know how these white people supressed our leaders, entered this country and conquered everybody. They have their history that we cannot even compare with ours at this time. After that, the white man used our people to go and fight in World War I and World War II. He arrested them. He did not ... view
