I got an accident in my Range Rover along the Mai Mahiu Road and when I went to make a claim, I found out that the broker had not remitted my money one year down the line. Save the fact that I am a Member of Parliament, many people are crying out there. When I threatened to ask a Question in Parliament, the underwriter paid though much less.

I am happy this legislation has come from the President today when our spirits are up because of the handshake and the situation is calm other than the tangatanga team. We may get a rogue President who does not want to reason and will mess the country. Therefore, I want to support the President’s Memorandum with reservations that, indeed, we need some discipline in this industry. There is no way brokers will start collecting money and not remitting it. At the end of the day, the person who suffers is the common mwananchi. Therefore, I urge my colleagues that we ...

Hon. Deputy Speaker, I do not know if it is in order for you to allow the Leader of the Majority Party to entertain us with issues of a confused team in terms of the presidency. It does not matter. When Hon. Moses Kuria stands and tells us his competitors, I wonder which country he wants to compete in. Is it Kenya, Uganda or another country? Let us be realistic with what we are serious about.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Much has been said by the many speakers on the Floor of this House. I rise to support the President’s Address for the first time. Last time when the President came to Parliament, we were all over with all manner of accusations on corruption that he spoke about on the Floor of this House. President spoke passionately about corruption. We have seen corruption trying to fight back through the lieutenants of corruption. Some of them sit in this House. Yesterday, when I heard a number of our colleagues talking, they were bitter accusing civil servants who were innocent and could not defend themselves on the Floor of the House. When my security was withdrawn sometime back, we did not cry foul as they are doing. Kibicho has to do more work. He should not withdraw security because others have been given more security than other Members of Parliament. We are all equal. The only ...

All right. Can I put it right, that the President said repeatedly that we can arrest these crooks who steal public money and frog match them to where they are supposed to be? But we support the DCI, the DPP and Mr. Kibicho; the one they are condemning. Some of those who have benefited from proceeds of stealing are the worst and noisiest in opposing the President’s Speech in other forums. I want to put it clear that there is no time that you can outshine your master or the neck has never exceeded the head. Let people cool down; ...
