  • 1 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to also add my wisdom to this debate. From the outset, while I support this Motion as a long-term exercise in this country, the way it has been framed at this time calls for more delays at the same time. People may be expecting to be persuaded with some tokens or gifts which again will even add more problems to the very delicate exercise we are seeing. It is very important for us, as leaders, to also interrogate ourselves on what could be the problem, why Kenyans do not ... view
  • 1 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: The IEBC should also have time to offer voter education continuously through the media, especially the radio stations in the evenings when people are back home from their daily chores. They need to be educated. This time, we should not be worried because at the end of the day, whoever has been registered, of course, will give us a government. So, there should be no worry that there will be no government. But we need to encourage our people that voting is a way of getting leaders who will guarantee democracy, education and all other forms of development in the ... view
  • 1 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: I want to support the idea that issuance of voters card and ID cards should be a continuous process. It should not be done in intervals. • 24 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I thank you very much for this opportunity. With a lot of respect, I hear of procedure, rules and what have you. Is the Leader of the Minority Party in order to discuss something that has already been passed by the House? view
  • 24 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Secondly, what is the history of this document? There were demonstrations all over the country. What was the major concern? The matter of the IEBC even came to our Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs. We know that the matter was only about the IEBC. Therefore, even before we go further, it is not legitimate for this Report to be in this House. That is according to my judgment. Can we first be guided? Is the Leader of the Minority Party in order to discuss a matter which has already been discussed and resolved? view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for giving me this opportunity to support this Bill. Women and men should compete so that we promote development. In democracy, there is no other rule other than competition. I pray for a future where we will see a Governor deputised by a woman or a woman Governor deputised by a man. That way, we will balance the gender. God’s intention was a balanced world where men live in harmony with women. Without belabouring much, I fully support this Bill. view
  • 17 Dec 2015 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I also wish to join the rest of my colleagues in supporting these appointments. Without belabouring the point, the experience and qualifications of these nominees are giving us a lot of hope in terms of service delivery. The experience across board, other than the academic qualification and the support from our colleagues in the Opposition, gives this country a lot of hope that the future lies in good performance in terms of development. It is for us to ask of them that while we offer them support, they need to complement that support with good performance. ... view
  • 5 Aug 2015 in National Assembly: It is great of you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, to give me this opportunity. First, I want to salute the pupils and teachers from Sigor Boarding Primary School and tell them that they are welcome. This is where we make the laws of this country. I also want to join my colleagues who have supported this Bill. I am one of them. It is a long-standing tradition that we have been practising in this country. It will be very odd if elections are not held during the month of December, especially because of very important activities like examinations. We do ... view
