  • 27 Sep 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Cabinet Secretary in his response has stated that a number of residents in Kajiado County who live along the Kenya-Tanzania interconnector are already benefiting from connection of electricity under the Last Mile Connectivity Project which is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project. This line criss-crosses Kajiado County. The line from Konza City is connected to Isinya, joins the Kajiado line to Namanga. However, I request the Cabinet Secretary to get facts on the ground. The entire project has been in trouble with the community because they see a huge Government project that they ... view
  • 27 Sep 2023 in National Assembly: The point is, people have no electricity and the KETRACO line is passing through their land. Kajiado East was my constituency for a long time. We have had problems with the Kenya Electricity Transmission Company Limited (KETRACO) lines for long. We wonder whether there are Kenyans who are meant to work and others who are not meant to. view

We can imagine in this County of Turkana where we are today, when there is an emergency for a lady who is giving birth and blood is needed, then she is told about procurement issues. We know that procurement issues have bogged down a lot of systems and made ... view
  • 26 Sep 2023 in National Assembly: Yes, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I hope you are compensating me on the time they have taken. I was saying even as we make laws that will protect the finances and the resources at the counties, we must not make laws that will strangle devolution or service delivery. Particularly this one for health is very important. We have a case in Kajiado County. A lady was taken to Kajiado Referral Hospital and they did not have blood. They went to a neighbouring private hospital to get it. If The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. ... view

I am not ignoring the concerns that were raised by Sen. Osotsi so that we do not open a Pandora’s box. However, as we do so, let us give priority to life. I thank you. view
