A State officer shall not participate in a tender for the supply of goods or services to a public entity, but the holding of shares by a State officer in a company listed or quoted on a securities exchange shall not be construed as indirect tendering unless the State officer has a controlling or substantial interest in the company. As it is now, the proposed amendment is not really a further amendment. It is substantially the same. So, our attempt to move an amendment to this section flopped. Therefore, I do not want to make further amendment. I leave it at that as a matter of principle. view
