  • 31 May 2011 in National Assembly: THAT, Clause 2 be amended— (a) in the definition of the expression “salary and remuneration”, by inserting the words “and benefits” immediately after the word “emoluments”; (b) by inserting the following new definition in its proper alphabetical sequence— “State officer” has the meaning assigned thereto in the Constitution. The definitions for that include “the State officer” which means a person holding a State office as defined under Article 260 of the Constitution. The reason for that is that the public officer should, therefore, be defined for clarity. We have been enabled to do so. view
