• 21 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: THAT, Clause 8 be further amended by inserting the following new Subclause immediately after sub-clause (2)— “(3) The names of persons proposed for appointment under subsection (1)(a) and (g) shall, before they are appointed, be laid before the National Assembly for approval.” Madam Temporary Deputy Chairlady, the parliamentary approval of appointees proposed under sub-section (g) is in line with the Constitution. This is to ensure transparency and competitiveness in the vetting process and that is why we are proposing this amendment. view
