  • 26 Sep 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also rise to support this very important Bill for one simple reason; this Commission needs to be strengthened by the Government to make sure it is able to carry out the mandate of cohesion, integration and co-existence among the people and make sure that people live in peace in this country. I support the extension of the term of this particular Commission for an additional one year but we need a budget to make sure they can be able to carry on their mandate. I support. view

Could he assure this House that he will develop that policy and hand it to the Cabinet so that we can deal with this matter? It is, indeed, the responsibility of the relevant Ministers to come up with Cabinet memoranda which they should take to the Cabinet for approval so that we can take care of these employees. view
