23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly:
I want us to be clear! There should be no rhetoric, games or hidden cards under the table. Let us put all the cards on the table. Let this House pass legislation for setting up a credible local judicial system that is in tandem with what international courts are willing to see us do because we have already gone to the international community when we were lobbying them. They will obviously want to see what Kenyans, especially the victims---

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I said that I do not want to be provoked. I also do not want to be provoked by you! I do not want to dignify Mr. Githaeâs remarks with anything that I can add to that. I said that we have minutes of our party meetings. We are very clear on this matter.

23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am aware that I should ask Mr. Githae to withdraw and apologize for saying that ODM wanted people to go and hang, but I believe that will be playing to the politics he wants. This is because he wants us to continue talking in a negative manner rather than coming out positively on these issues. I want to conclude by saying that as we are discussing this issue, we must remember that---

23 Mar 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, you can see the kind of behavior I was avoiding to engage Mr. Githae in. He is one of the persons who were engaged in shuttle diplomacy for Kenya. I really do not understand. With all due respect to this House, if we are to debate the comments made by the President yesterday, we must be true to what history has taught us so that we move forward with our new light. The new light is that if, indeed, we are sure that we are committed to this process, then we need open and transparent ...

Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I will just highlight one issue because my colleagues have spoken about the rest. I do not think they would want to make another mistake.

Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, could you protect me from the Minister for Tourism? Very soon, we will be discussing his Bill and I hope he has taken care of gender aspects.

24 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Minister, please, because I do not want to go into more details because I am sure my colleagues, especially the Chairs of the various Committees have spoken. This issue of women is no longer your choice. It is no longer a matter of whether you are in the mood or not; it is a constitutional requirement and let us see it being reflected in this Bill that is being discussed today. I beg to support.

23 Feb 2011 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity. From the onset, I support this Motion. I want to thank the hon. Member who has brought this Motion because it deals with an issue that is about to gain the infamous title of being a historical injustice, simply because we never get information on these issues. We thank God that the new Constitution in the provisions of Article 211(2) allows us now to ask the difficult questions that for long the Government has been able to use the excuse that these are issues of national ...
