There has been no matrimonial property Bill, since 1895. What we have done here is really showing the country again what this House can do in terms of legislation. I had prepared this Petition, just for the information of the House, way before the Westgate attack. It was to come during the week when we were dealing with the Westgate attack. The victims have never received any assistance from the Government of Kenya to date. We hereby confirm that efforts in terms of letters addressed to the relevant persons and Ministries and oral representations to the concerned parties have been made about the matter addressed, but no adequate response has been received.
