Rt. Hon.(Eng) Raila Amolo Odinga

Raila Odinga served as Prime Minister of Kenya, and was the MP of Langata between 1992 and March 2013. He came third in the 1997 Presidential election and as ODM candidate was runner up to Mwai Kibaki in the 2007 Presidential Election. In 2013 he unsuccessfully contested the Presidential elections that saw Uhuru Kenyatta declared the 4th President. In 2017 he successfully contested the August 8th polls that saw the Supreme Court nullify the elections. He nonetheless absconded the fresh October 26th polls that saw President Uhuru re-elected for another final term.

  • 15 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: I believe on the dictum that I may not agree with you have to say, but I shall defend unto death the right to say it. That is the reason why we tolerated everybody. The “no camp” was given full protection during the campaign. They had the full force of the law behind them when they were campaigning. They were gentlemen and gentle ladies, after they were defeated, they conceded defeat. So, they are Kenyans. view
  • 15 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this is politics. As some would go and say that they are united in one thing that one person will not be the President of this country. That person has also the right to say do not trust the people who opposed the same Constitution because they will not implement it. view
