  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, in Kenya, we have not decided on a national dress. This is the National Assembly and we are surprised that you have said that the herdsman there is wearing… view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I also want to take this earliest opportunity to congratulate the Hon. Vincent Kemosi Mogaka for bringing this Motion. It has come at the right time, especially because the beneficiaries of this Motion are in the House as we are talking. I also take this opportunity to thank my Women Representative for Busia County, Hon. Florence Mutua, for making effort to enable the pupils from Bubamba Primary School and Rugunga Primary School to be in this House as we are talking. I want to remember that I was a beneficiary of the Moi Milk ... view
  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: hectares. All of that is marsh. Movement there is not easy. But she has managed to bring them up to Nairobi. For them, it is as if they have reached heaven. This is heaven for them because I know most Members of Parliament here do not know Kenya. They simply go to their constituencies from Nairobi. Some of your constituencies are near Nairobi. • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I am Hon. Raphael Wanjala, the MP for Budalangi. When I look at the faces of the Members seated in this House - I came here in 1998 when I was 30 years - most of them are new and they were not in the struggle for the second liberation of this country. view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: We have come from far and I want them to listen. One Member said it is not about education; it is about wisdom. It is only Hon. Mbarire, among the ladies seated on the other side, whom we were with. She knows where we have come from and the number of women who were in this House and those who are here today, courtesy of the struggle. Therefore, when we are in this House we need to be serious and make laws for posterity. We are not making laws for today’s gain. I have experience. When I came to this ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I want to remind them that women used to strip in Uhuru Park for the second liberation. We were being bulldozed to make laws in this House. It used to happen the way it is happening in Uganda today. We said we shall have public participation. For the Leader of the Majority Party, if you reduce the period to one day, when will we have public participation? When we are making laws, we must carry Kenyans along with us. view
