Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think it was not a very technical question that required an answer from the Minister for Roads and Public Works. A report from our warden was sufficient to say what has happened there. For example, the ADB gravelling of the road to Endebes through Cholim was done last week, and we got a simple report about it from the warden.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, on the provision of electricity, the Kshs9.4 million will be raised in the following manner: The CDF for Kwanza Constituency has pledged to contribute Kshs1 million. We have requested, through the KWS, Kshs6.3 million in the next financial year. Mt. Elgon Lodge and the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC) will provide the balance, that is Kshs2.1 million. That will be sufficient to provide power to the park. From Capt. Nakitare's house, it is not far.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I think that is a different Question altogether. We are marketing all our national parks at the same time, and I would like the hon. Member to know that even the issue of the roads that we are addressing has been ongoing. On the 15th of March this year, we had done all these roads, prior to the branding. So, the situation is not as bad as it might sound. We are doing all we can to market the national park along with others.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. My Ministry has already taken a bold step towards taming the kind of menace being involved in sex trade within the Ministry's tourism industry, by signing the code of conduct to protect children from sexual exploitation in travel and tourism. We are also encouraging the stakeholders to sign the same code of conduct. The Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers has endorsed that code, so that they can work with the Ministry to enforce the prevention of exploitation of our children in the sex tourism industry. We are also decentralising our ...

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I will not read the whole of it. The other thing which we are doing is working with other Government departments and Ministries, such as the Children's Department in the Ministry of Home Affairs, the police and Judiciary with a view to bringing to book the culprits. We are also asking the communities living adjacent to the tourist resorts to speak out against this vice, that negatively affects the welfare of our children.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, one of the things that we are doing is asking the hotels to register all guests, so that in the process of doing that, they can detect minors and turn them away. Another reason for registering these guests is that it will be possible to trace any of them who is accused or suspected of having perpetrated sexual offences with minors.

Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I appreciate that this is not a problem that can be solved by one Ministry. Indeed, even the Questioner asked what the Government is doing. My answer is actually on what the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife is doing together with other Ministries and departments, to fight this very big evil. As I speak, we have our senior staff, and some consultants in Nakuru, working on a revised tourism policy. They are also working on a Bill to be presented to this House, so that we can come up with the specific remedies to this big ...
