  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to support this Motion. Members of Parliament need this break more than anything else. When you look at this Chamber, people are trying to use any available time to go to their constituencies. Currently, some people have started campaigning as if elections are going to be held next month. Most of those people, even in my constituency, are spreading lies that the Jubilee Government has not done anything. We need this time to go out there and tell them that they have done a lot. These days, women deliver in hospitals for free. We need ... view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: I can see that there is a Member who wants to interfere. I will not give you space. It is my democratic right. I do not want any points of order. view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, we have Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) projects. There is a lot of pressure to inspect what our locals and our communities are doing with the money CDF has given them. For as long as we are here, we can do very little. I may be lucky because I can dash home for two hours and come back. Some Members require about two or three days to reach home. I am sure we will do a good job in the ten days that we are going to the constituencies. We are going to inspect projects and write reports ... view

  • 23 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I stand here to support this Report. I have listened to several speakers contributing to this Report. One thing, we need sober minds when dealing with things concerning the country. Blame game will not take us very far. There are so many people who listen to us when we are contributing to Bills on the Floor of the House. About corruption, it has become like a goldmine in this country. Any person stands somewhere, even those who are corrupt, to talk about corruption. All the time they are talking the Jubilee Government being corrupt. Surely, ... view
  • 16 Feb 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I also want to support the Leader of the Majority Party on this issue of county governments and the way they misuse money. We have to be very serious on this issue. If this was started long time ago, the cases we have had in the county governments of governors and their team misusing money--- I also want to support what my colleagues have said. In my county, I know very many people who used to be very poor now driving very big cars. They have also bought houses in every estate. The question ... view

  • 26 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I also rise to support Hon. Makali and others that we need that report on the Floor of the House. We cannot have one issue with three Committees. Some people went to the USA and they never brought their report here. The Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives has been sitting for a year and then they want to form another Committee. What are they hiding? As Kenyans and Members of this House, we say no to this until we get the actual report from the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Cooperatives. view
  • 5 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support this Bill by Hon. Muthomi Njuki. I support Members who spoke before me supporting that the mausoleum should be open to the public. I disagree with one of the Members who claimed that he is not very sure whether the body of our founding father is lying at the mausoleum. Surely, you do not expect to go to the mausoleum and see a dead body. For people who have been to a place like Israel, you go there to read history about Jesus Christ, how he was crucified, where he was laid ... view
  • 5 Oct 2016 in National Assembly: no history or people there. Can we do what other countries do? We go to other countries to read history and learn about what we should do in our country. When we went to Israel, I remember were told they generate over US$10 billion from the area where Jesus was buried from tourists who go to read and see their history. In our country, you find an askari at the gate who tells you that you cannot enter yet we say the body of our founding father, who rescued this country from the white people, is lying there. One just ... view
