  • 29 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is good the Assistant Minister has told this House that all the projects in town councils must be approved by the residents in their LASDAP meetings. Here in Nairobi, some places have not had street lights for the last two years and yet others have street lights. What is the Ministry doing to ensure that the City Council of Nairobi fixes street lights in all the areas and treats all the residents equally? view

  • 7 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, this complaint regarding CDF-funded medical problems is not only found in Kajiado, but also in other areas. Here in Nairobi, especially in my constituency, Government dispensaries do not even have cleaners. Sometimes, we as hon. Members take our own initiative to ensure that we hire cleaners to clean those dispensaries. What is the Assistant Minister doing to ensure that they employ more cleaners to clean dispensaries in Nairobi which are now in a very bad state? view
  • 26 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Assistant Minister has told the House that the Government has constructed more than 500 police housing units. Two days ago, the residents of Makongeni, who have lived in those houses for more than 50 years, were removed from those houses and the houses are supposed to be occupied by police officers from Nairobi. Why did the Government do that? view
  • 26 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: I apologise, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. view
  • 26 Jul 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has told this House that they will build more than 500 units in Nairobi only. Only two days ago in my area the police went and removed residents in Makongeni and replaced them although they have been staying there for more than 50 years with police officers from other police stations in Nairobi. Why did the Government do that? view

  • 4 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the question of workers being employed on temporary basis has been debated here many times. Could the Assistant Minister tell this House what the labour laws say about workers being employed on temporary basis? What is the minimum period for temporary employment? What is the Assistant Minister going to do to ensure that all temporary workers in these companies are employed on permanent basis? view
