• 3 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support this important Bill. Ranking of schools is back. This will bring competition among schools and schools that perform poorly will improve. I also support the inclusion of co-curricular activities to be ranked. There are some regions which perform very well in co-curricular activities. Therefore, we shall be able to identify them and rank them. That will also enable identification of talent in those regions. I support. view

The proposed Bill will establish warehouse receipting system for grains and cereals with a view to stabilizing commodity prices and cushioning farmers against price fluctuations. It also seeks to enable farmers to save money in the banks. The warehouse receipting system is a tool that will provide farmers with confidence or surety that when they take their produce to the warehouse, prices will be guaranteed. I want to urge the Departmental Committee on Agriculture, Livestock and Co-operatives to look into this matter because it is very serious. NCPB is entrusted to supply fertilisers to farmers. It is supplying fertiliser which is of poor quality. view
• 6 Jul 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) should not have allowed sub- standard fertilizer into the country. So, they should also be held responsible. This is a very serious matter because farmers have lost money and they are not going to get enough harvest from their farms. view

Kamukunji Grounds have a rich history where great men and women in this country fought for democracy and human rights in this country. The current situation of Kamukunji Grounds is pathetic. It is for that reason the Member thought it wise that this monument be reclaimed and put in its original state. This House passed a Motion sometimes in 2013 to have at least 20 kilometres of roads constructed in every constituency. This was going to cure the problem of areas which are deemed to have been highly marginalized. The construction of a 20-kilometre road in every constituency would have meant that every constituency would enjoy the fruits of this country and the equitable distribution of road construction. • 22 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: make them to last for a longer period. Maintenance is very key. Some roads develop potholes and it takes so long before they are repaired. I would like to point out the upgrading of roads in the country. In my constituency, there is no single road that has been upgraded to the level which the Government is supposed to maintain. Most of the roads have gone under the oversight of the devolved government. This is causing a great concern because it means that in my constituency, there will never be a single tarmacked road.
