  • 2 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, before I proceed, I would like to seek your guidance. At that time, I had a balance of nine minutes. Owing to what has been resolved by the House, the time has now been limited to five minutes. I will be comfortable going by the House’s resolution to limit the time to five minutes because it supersedes whatever happened at that time. view
  • 2 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: I will do what I can because it is only one amendment. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to support the Pensions (Amendment) Bill that has been brought to this House by Hon. Didmus Barasa, Member for Kimilili. The Bill addresses the problems and concerns of almost all the constituents represented in the House. On many occasions, we have been approached by constituents who would like us to follow up on their pensions which are usually stuck along the way between their employer and the payer. Giving a timeframe for the payment of pensions will bring a lot of prudence ... view
  • 2 Feb 2022 in National Assembly: money. This Bill is trying to fix this so that it becomes automatic that once you retire, you are entitled to your pension at a particular time or after the proposed 90 days. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, only one crucial amendment is being sought so as to address our constituents’ problems. I do not want to belabour much so any other person with an interest can be given an opportunity to contribute. Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I beg to support. view

  • 9 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Before you consider the request that has been made by Hon. Duale, it is good to, first of all, see where we are coming from and where we are going. I know that for you to review the sitting arrangement in this House, you have always followed the requisite advice from technical people. In my view, I would not say that you review to increase or reduce the numbers. Within your wisdom, I am sure you are able to seek some advice from a technical committee which can advise you on how to deal with this ... view
  • 14 Oct 2021 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to convey the concerns of the people of Gichugu where I was before I came to the House this afternoon. They are in support of the various proposals to amend the various laws that are captured in the Report. The people of Gichugu told me that they would like the fuel prices to go even lower than the ones that have been recommended by EPRA this afternoon. When the price was between Ksh90 and Ksh100, this country was still running. We will support the Committee’s Report and when the Bills come to ... view
