  • 12 Jun 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this particular Motion for a number of reasons. One, if we would like to realise Vision 2030, then it is not going to be realised by the people that are quite elderly. It is the young people that are really going to be able to get to the driver’s seat and drive Vision 2030 into reality. Secondly, the National Youth Council is the only council that can be able to articulate the issue of unemployment well because this country, for many years, has been preparing young people to become employees. ... view

I want to thank the Leaders of the Majority and Minority and the two Whips for accepting that there is always a better way of doing things. I want to urge this House that, as much as we are pushed by history to become suspicious of each other, it is about time we began to engage as equal partners.
