Rose Nyamunga Ogendo

A niece of the late Robert Ouko, she was interested in politics in 1992. She recalls how she realized where her fate was in 1990s, when she followed her family discussions on political developments in the country. She used to follow keenly political activists like Paul Muite and James Orengo since she had an interest in people’s rights and justice. She gained experience in developing a solid manifesto and campaign structure during the campaigns of her husband Eric Nyamunga, former Nyando MP. In her manifesto, she promised economic empowerment for the youth and women, adult education for women, mentorship for girls and sports opportunities in the county.

  • 21 May 2019 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am very disturbed. Is it in order for Members to stand one after another, only to talk about leaders who have gone through police injustices and forgetting about Baby Pendo who has not got justice to this day, many women who were raped, children who were defiled and many other people who have nobody to represent them in this House? At least sen. Malalah was in Kisumu where everybody was with him there and Senators travelled from Kakamega to Kisumu to support him. view

  • 16 May 2019 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I also support the comments made by my senior and you. In as much as this matter comes from a ward in Mandera County, it does not mean that land issue is not rampant in other parts of Kenya. Land allocation and reallocation is rampant in Kenya and should be looked at. The problem could be with how the Petition was written. However, the problem touches on almost all the wards in this country. I support the people of Mandera County. This is not the first compliant that we have received. The other day, a ... view
  • 16 May 2019 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. Mine is brief. Change is critical. At any level of life, a person may want to change things from time to time. When we were starting the 8-4-4 system, we had the same experiences and after 20 or 30 years, we are changing it again. It is not bad. Normally, change comes with a lot of resistance which is generally understood. Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, the issue is simple; how can a whole sub county in Kajiado have only 127 teachers? This is starvation of the highest order. So, ... view

  • 3 Apr 2019 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity just to make a brief comment on the Statement by Sen. Sakaja. This is not a matter of Nairobi City County alone; it is one that covers and affects most of our counties. We can see what has happened to Samburu, and many others should actually follow. view
