  • 6 Apr 2017 in National Assembly: I am very happy as a Women Representative for Embu County. I have represented our people, not just women, but also men, the youth and children. They are happy that women can stand and support them up to the household level. I believe when we talk about development in this nation, we need to involve not just men, but everybody. Men have been in Parliament for many years. Some have been here for over 30 years when women were helping people outside without any leadership. I pray and hope that the women of this nation and the members of our ... view

  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to support the amendment Bill. I appreciate very much my sister, Hon. Grace, for bringing it here. I am a Member of the Departmental Committee on Education, Research and Technology and I am also a parent. • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: citizens. Quality ECD develops not just the child or the family, but the nation and the world at large. I support the Bill because I have been to very dry areas in our nation where sometimes even food security becomes a very big problem. Many mothers leave their homes to look for food for the children. That time, the girl-child is unable to go to school because culturally and traditionally, when a mother is not near, the girl-child is left to take care of the rest of the children. I hope we will all support this amendment Bill. All the ... view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Big nations of this world employ the best teachers to teach early childhood education. When the foundation of these children is strong, the nation will benefit. I want to talk about the girl-child. When you educate a woman, you have educated the entire nation. I wish the boy-child is well taken care of. However, most of the girls do not attend classes for a week in a month because they do not have sanitary towels. As a House, we pass the Budget and allocate over Kshs300 million for sanitary towels. Unfortunately, some schools have never received them. This is very ... view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: In some cultures, these young girls who are not educated get married at a tender age. I hope that as we look at the amendment Bill, we should follow up to ensure that these children pass exams, are healthy, receive support from their parents, the Government and communities and especially girls for the sake of our nation. view
  • 29 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Speaker for giving me this chance. I would also like to thank my sister, Hon. Grace for bringing this Bill. This Bill will ensure that Kenya will have people who are very learned in a few years, and the demand for them to work beyond our border will increase. view
  • 2 Mar 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance. I have been waiting to share this information. We should respect the Government of the day, whether we are in Opposition or not. We are all happy that we are going for recess. We now have time to meet our people and work together as a team. We should talk to our people and help the Government work well. We need to tell our people what we have done for this country. I wish to tell my honorable brother seated there that he should not be annoyed. He was given ... view
