  • 1 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: I want to thank the Jubilee administration because in the four point jubilee agenda that the President has said we strengthen, there is the strong push to have manufacturing that is export-led. Once we manufacture and grow our agriculture, we must secure markets. It is one thing to produce something or to manufacture and it is another thing to get a market for those produce. So, the partnership between the EU and the ACP countries, and particularly Kenya seeks to secure our continued partnership, so that our goods continue to get access to the European market quota free and duty ... view

  • 5 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. A lot of times, we have heard the Government speaking about creating jobs for our youth. I think this Bill could not have come at a better time. We have talents, but we must know how to manage them and when to tap into those talents. We must protect the talents rights. So, this Bill is seeking to do exactly that and I support it. I was reading the story of Jack Ma, now the richest man in China who is worth US$25 billion yet he started his company ... view
  • 5 Dec 2017 in National Assembly: First of all, the Bill seeks to help commercialise the talents our youth have and protect their rights. I was reading again that Las Vegas is one of the fastest growing cities in the world and it is not because of anything else, but talent, art, music and drama. This Bill could not have come at a better time. We need to commercialise our talents, be it the people who are bringing innovative ideas in ICT or in the music industry to ensure that we harness what these talents bring for them, so that they can make a living out ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I rise to support the Motion for the approval of the ratification of the East African Community Protocol on Privileges and Immunities. The best trading partner a country can have is their neighbour. Kenya has not fully utilised its potential for trade with the East African Community (EAC) partner states, although they remain and still are our main export destination. We need to up our game particularly now that we are considering industrialisation on issues to do with value addition of agro-processing that finds their market in our partner states. ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: We have a problem because, at times, when our tourist caravans cross to other partner state’s side, they do not get the same treatment that we give them from our end. So, ratifying this Protocol will give reassurances with regard to the extent of operations among partner states. It will remove suspicion on trade issues now that it is coming soon after the ratification of the Common Market Protocol. view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: With those remarks, I beg to support. view
