  • 25 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: This amendment seeks to ensure that the nominating organisations will have a say in the person to be appointed in the council, in terms of the amendment. Each nominating organisation shall forward two names to the Cabinet Secretary, who shall then appoint one person from among the persons in each category. The amendment also seeks to provide for the power of the council to establish such committees as may be necessary for the proper discharge of its function. Forwarding of two names also helps in gender and regional balancing so that the council is well balanced. view
