Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, Clause 4 of the Bill be amended− (a) in paragraph (b) by deleting the word “Minister” appearing in the proposed new paragraph (c) and substituting therefor the words “Cabinet Secretary”; (b) by inserting the following new paragraph immediately after paragraph (c)− “(d) in paragraph (f) by deleting the word “Minister” and substituting therefor the words “Cabinet Secretary”. This is substituting the word “Minister” with “Cabinet Secretary”. This is just cleaning up.

Hon. Chairman, I beg to move: THAT, clause 5 of the Bill be amended by deleting the words “relevant government agencies” appearing in the proposed new section 9 and substituting therefor the words “Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) ”. This is just in line with the Constitution because there is already the SRC which is the Government agency which is meant to deal with salaries. This is for purposes of cleaning up.

I beg to move: THAT, Clause 6 of the Bill be amended by inserting the following new subsection immediately after the proposed new subsection (4)— “(5) The Chief Executive Officer shall be an ex officio member of the Board.” This amendment seeks to expressly provide that the CEO shall be an ex officio member of the board which is necessary for the effective implementation of the CEO’s decision at the board.
