Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I beg to move:- THAT, the Bill be amended by deleting clause 45. The reason being, anything that was unconstitutional about child marriages was also unconstitutional even in the former Constitution. This new Constitution did not come to write something that was wrong in the former Constitution. Even this one is saying that there were child marriages which were entered before and those child marriages were illegal even under the old Constitution under the old regime. If it is deemed that a person who is protected under this Bill is a victim, then the Victim Protection Act kicks in. Once that Act kicks in, the Witness Protection Unit shall then provide safe shelter for that person who is being protected.
