Hon. Chairlady, the reason for the amendment is that we have enlarged this particular clause by introducing the relevant Articles of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010; Articles 10, 27(4), 47, 48 and 49, so that it can be in line with the supreme law.

I beg to move:- THAT, clause 5 of the Bill be amended by inserting the following new sub-clause immediately after sub clause (2)- “(3) No victim shall be denied the rights or welfare of a victim under this Act by reason only that similar protection measures are available under any other written law.”
