Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 32 of the Bill be amended- (a) in Sub-clause (1) by deleting the word “Director” and substituting therefor the word “Registrar”; (b) in Sub-clause (2) by deleting the word “Director” and substituting therefor the word “Registrar” Again, I have suggested that the most appropriate title of the person registering marriages is not the Director but the Registrar.

Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 41 be amended- (a) in Sub-clause (1) by deleting the word “Director” wherever it appears and substituting therefor the word “Registrar”; (b) in Sub-clause (2) by deleting the word “Director” wherever it appears and substituting therefor the word “Registrar”; (c) by deleting Sub-clause (4); and (d) by deleting Sub-clause (5). This deals with the making of regulations by the Cabinet Secretary. That has been left at the tail-end in Clause 94, which provides for an omnibus making of regulations by the Secretary.
