(a) Since Independence, the Government has settled squatters in settlement schemes as follows:- A total of 106 squatter settlement schemes have been established, covering a total of 81,027.05 hectares. Those schemes have covered 22,395 squatters. The programme is ongoing. Currently, nine farms are under demarcation and survey is still going on. He had actually asked me to lay on the Table the list of the farms that have been purchased, and I have done that. view

As you know, in the current Budget, we do not have any allocation for settlement of squatters. So, if this House could assist me to get money, I can look into the settlement of squatters in Trans Nzoia District. view
