I must say I was very offended that the person who is responsible for that, the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Finance and Budget, while at a church on Sunday in Nairobi, instead of telling the UHC workers how much money he has put in the budget, he attacked Sen. Sifuna for being the person championing for the UHC staff workers. As a House, the leadership here has done its best. Let the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Finance and Budget, the Member of Parliament for Alego, put money aside for UHC workers.

I wanted the UHC workers to know that as Secretary General (SG) of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), I have Hon. Atandi's number. The messages they are sending to us in this House should be directed to Hon. Atandi. That is all.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Just a few words on the Statement that has been brought by the Senator for Busia regarding the Ang’ata Barikoi incident. I have referenced this incident before because it was the first time that I saw the Inspector General of Police being summoned by the “leadership of the community.” When he arrived there, he could not even disembark from his aircraft until the local leadership arrived. I remember watching in the news that he sat in that chopper for almost an hour and could not access the meeting that was going on. There were very ...

I do not know why that directive is being given immediately I take the microphone, but I will take it in stride. Mr. Speaker, Sir, in his other life, the Cabinet Secretary and I used to agree on how this Hustler Fund needs to be treated. As of September of 2024, data from that Ministry indicates that the default rate was up to 58 per cent. That means approximately 14 million out of the 24 million people who are borrowing on that platform are classified as defaulters. In his other life, the CS was clear that we need to hold ...

Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, why is the Senate Majority Leader heckling? You have given me the mic and he should allow me to say what I want to say. I promise to be--- Fortunately for the Senate Majority Leader, I was directed by my party leader to be nicer, and I am going to try my best. I will not respond to his heckling today because waliniambia nitoe pilipili moja. This morning, I was called by the Member of County Assembly for Ngara ward, Hon. Chege Mwaura. He wanted my assistance because his people were being evicted, in this rain, ...
