The Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives, in consultation with the Agriculture and Food Authority and county Governments, made the Crops (Tea Industry) Regulations, 2020. The regulations were made pursuant to Section 40 of the Crops Act. The published regulations have been submitted to the Committee on Delegated Legislation. Although the Statutory Instruments Act does not expressly provide that a parent committee should also scrutinise the regulations, the regulations correlate to the current Tea Bill that the Committee is considering.
