The upsurge of crime in the recent past is attributed to the post election violence which saw many youths who were either employed in beaches and tourist hotels lose their jobs due to the closure of those beach hotels, thus making them idle and, as a result, they turned to criminal activities. (b) Nobody has been arrested in connection with the raid. (c) The aggrieved parties; KTN and the Standard Newspapers Group proceeded to court and filed a civil suit which has not been determined.
