(b) Why is the management of the university forcing the staff and students of the school to move to Chepkoilel College without the sanction of the Board of the school and the University Senate and Council? • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to take this opportunity to thank the new Minister for giving me a very comprehensive and good answer. I am very impressed. Having said that, I would like to hear from her what will happen to the physical infrastructure of the Environmental School which has, in all these years, been at the Moi University Campus. Now that it is being transferred to Chepkoilel, what happens to the infrastructure because the contention here is that the school is being moved to Chepkoilel Campus but the physical infrastructure is at Moi University? So, there is a ... view
  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to hear from the Minister what will happen to the staff because there are allegations that the staff who are in school are being penalized for refusing to go to Chepkoilel Campus. Could she assure this House that the staff will not be penalized? I would also like to get evidence that the senate, indeed, approved the movement of this school from Moi University to Chepkoilel College Campus. view

  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: (a) why the Kenya Power & Lighting Company Ltd. (KPLC) is demanding Kshs.170,416 from Ebukuya Primary School in Emuhaya District for a single phase 4KVA supply of electricity instead of Kshs.55,000; and, (b) why the construction and installation of electricity by KPLC is generally more costly than by the Rural Electrification Authority (REA). view
  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I have briefly browsed through this strategic plan and there is nowhere they are saying that this school will be transferred to Chepkoilel. So, with your indulgence, I beg that this matter be taken to the Departmental Committee on Education, Science and Technology, so that it is investigated further. view
  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for his good answer, and also for agreeing that this school will be connected to electricity through arrangements with REA. I wish to thank the Assistant Minister for the good answer and his commitment to connect Ebukuya Primary school with power. view
  • 7 Sep 2011 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. For the benefit of this House, I would like the Assistant Minister to tell us why the Kenya Power and Lighting Company Ltd (KPLC) does not supply power to an area until people have paid the deposit. Does that make business sense? view
