  • 6 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the IDPs that are being referred to here are not only from Nyanza. In Juja, we have over 10,000 integrated IDPs who were displaced from different places. view
  • 6 Apr 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, would I be in order, therefore, to request that the Minister be given time to come to this House with a comprehensive Statement on the state of affairs of the IDPs because we have them in Juja? view
  • 30 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Lands:- (a) why 41 of the 65 title deeds for land LR NO. 4953/2011, belonging to Matewa Agencies Company Limited in Thika have not been issued since September 2004, yet the official requirements were met; (b) whether he is aware that Allotment Letters and Deed Plans for all the 65 plots were issued and Demand Notes are being sent yearly, including for the 41 titles which are yet be issued; and, (c) when the 41 title deeds will be issued to the company. view
  • 30 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I appreciate the Minister’s assertion that titles be issued if we produce the documents that I actually have. I would want to table those documents. However, it is unfortunate that it is only after a Question like this one is asked in Parliament that titles are going to be issued. You will see that from 2006, people paid all their dues and titles were issued in piecemeal. What is it that the Ministry is going to do to make sure that when Kenyans do what is required of them to do, the Ministry issues title deeds ... view
  • 30 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am satisfied. view
  • 29 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is, indeed, true that we visited the quarries as stated by the Assistant Minister. The only thing she probably needs to do is to give a timeframe within which these actions are expected to take place. We visited the sites on 10th February, 2011. It is now almost two months since then. Therefore, we need to know the timeframe within which action will be taken. Secondly, since she now understands that these problems emanate from all the quarries in Thika, which are over 100, could she undertake to carry out a similar inspection on the other ... view
  • 29 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I sought a Ministerial Statement from the same Ministry on the same issue of quarries, where a family of three was buried alive. The Minister promised to issue the Ministerial Statement in 14 days’ time and it is now well over 21 days since then. view
  • 29 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I would like to seek the guidance of the Chair. Some time back, Prof. Saitoti tabled a Report here which purportedly - or which allegedly - was given to him by Mr. Michael Ranneberger. Normally when a document is tabled in the House, hon. Members have access to that document through Room No.8. But, to my surprise and that of other hon. Members, that Report is not available in Room No.8. Every time we go to Room No.8, we are referred to the Office of the Clerk. We go to the Office ... view
  • 29 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I appreciate your position, but it is also important to note that we do not get documents from your office, but from Room No.8. view
  • 24 Mar 2011 in National Assembly: asked the Minister of State for Provincial Administration and Internal Security:- view
