  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this Motion. I support the Motion for Adjournment. As we proceed on this very brief adjournment period, I want to say that this is an opportune moment for Members to go to campaign as indicated by the Mover. Even as we do that, I am happy my friend, Hon. Wamalwa, is seated in front of me. I want to remind him and his group that what they are doing is simply postponing the victory of this Government. They are dealing with what I would describe ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Very soon, Hon. Raila Odinga will be left on his own to retire in peace and grace. There are members of staff who fill leave forms, and when they are granted leave, they do not go home. You see them hovering around the office and you wonder why they were seeking for the leave. This is the kind of leadership we are dealing with. I want to remind them that however long they seek to prolong... They have now begun to cry. They have been abusing everybody left, right and centre and when it is time for them to face ... view
  • 28 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you for that guidance. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. There is a Kiswahili saying that says “ nyege ni kunyegezana .” Our colleagues have been looking for that. They must have a taste of their own medicine because you cannot be a master in destroying institutions. You must destroy institutions because you did not win the elections. It is not right. I know the communist policy that Mhe . Raila Odinga went to study in Germany. He is an expert in disorganisation and reorganisation of organised organisations. That is what he went to study in Russia. I want to tell ... view

  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for this opportunity to speak to this very important document. At the outset, I would like to say that I support this Motion. The framers of our Constitution in Article 71 did this Parliament a lot of good by stating that: “A transaction is subject to ratification by Parliament if it – (a) involves the grant of a right or concession by or on behalf of any person, including the national government to another person for the exploitation of any natural resource of Kenya”. view
  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: These kinds of documents, for a while now, have always been signed by bureaucrats sitting in Government offices without the benefit of the elected representatives of the people having a chance to look at them. So many documents have been signed and resources of the people of Kenya have been committed without the approval of the elected representatives of the people. Now that we have this chance, we have to utilise it properly. On the matter of the Nile waters, we have this chance as the Republic of Kenya to have a say on the usage of the waters of ... view
  • 27 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I want to state categorically that I support this very important document. It is, therefore, important that this National Assembly approves it. I have had the opportunity to work in the East African Community and I know that even the East African Legislative Assembly supports this document. I beg to support. view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: I thank you, Hon. Speaker. I have been trying to catch the Speaker’s eye since yesterday. As an immediate former Speaker of Baringo County Assembly, it is not very pleasant to be on the other side. Hon. Speaker, I take this opportunity to thank the great people of Tiaty Constituency, Baringo County, for giving me this chance. For those who do not know, Tiaty Constituency was misrepresented for 15 years by the immediate former Chairman of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. I am happy that I am now here to represent their interests properly. Hon. Speaker, in ... view
  • 14 Sep 2017 in National Assembly: Coming to what the President said on the occasion of the Presidential Address in this Assembly, he came and did his constitutional duty after the Supreme Court reinstated him not as an aspiring President, but as a sitting President. Hon. Speaker, the only thing that I thank the people of Kenya for is the peace that they have maintained since the ruling of the Supreme Court. I commend the people of the Republic of Kenya for maintaining peace throughout this period. I am sure that there are some who were wishing for the opposite. I thank the people of Kenya ... view
