  • 5 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for including this project in his budget. However, I have a problem when he says that the project is included in the Forward Budget. He is not specific as far as the financial year is concerned. Could he, please, clarify whether he is going to include it in the coming financial year starting in July, 2007? view
  • 5 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, having installed electricity, through the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF), at this divisional headquarters and market, the area is growing very fast. I am happy that the Minister has given me a commitment that this project will begin in the next financial year, which is July, 2007. I hope that he will live by his word. view
  • 7 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Is the hon. Minister in order to tell this House that he will meet Committees when we know very well that Committees end their work in the first week of December? What Committees is he talking about? view
  • 7 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. Our procedure here is that nobody should stand between Mr. Speaker and the person speaking. You can see what the hon. Member for Mathira is doing. view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have heard that Butere/Mumias District is not one of the districts that were created during--- view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I was saying that Butere/Mumias District is not one of the districts that was created during the referendum period, when this Government was in disarray; and it is still in disarray even today. I want the Assistant Minister to assure this House that money will be allocated to establish those offices in Butere/Mumias District in the next financial year. view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads and Public Works whether he could inform the House what has caused the delay in tarmacking the 33-kilometre Ekero-Buyangu Road. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I have, however, not received the written response. I have checked everywhere. They have not even brought it to the Speaker's office. view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. At 1.00 p.m., I went to Room 8 to check whether the reply was there. But it was not there. I have checked with the Clerk-at-the-Table and he has confirmed that the Minister has not brought the reply. We are tired of the un-truths from the Ministers! They do not want to give hon. Members written replies! view
  • 6 Dec 2006 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, that is a very good answer, if the Government can live up to its promise. We have heard many such promises before. The last promise was given by none other than the Head of State, when he visited Mumias. I hope the Assistant Minister is going to live to his words. view
