  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: I appeal to my colleagues, now that this issue is a thing of the past, we should not antagonise each other by saying that there are winners and losers. We are all winners because we have broken the eyes of suspicion and disagreement. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: In the same breath, I would like to thank the leadership of the country. I should be forgiven, but I am not criticising anybody. I just want to give advice. The leadership of the House should carry out its responsibilities by doing public relations between the Senate and the Executive. If the President was given a good explanation on this matter, I am sure we would have resolved this issue early. I am saying this because I know the President is a kind and good-hearted person and he always gives consideration to the voice of leaders. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: Colleagues, I thank you very much. Unity is the pillar of any nation. We have shown that we are united in considering the welfare of Kenyans all over this country, irrespective of population or land mass, and ensure that everybody gets at least something. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: My county was going to lose Kshs900 million. Now they will get Kshs1.8 billion. On behalf of the people of Garissa, I thank you for doing that. I encourage you to continue with the spirit. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, since Senators have said that we should limit ourselves due to time, once again, I thank you. May God bless Kenya. Long live Kenya! view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in Senate: Madam Temporary Speaker, I have been away for the last one year on the business of the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI). I thank Sen. Iman who stood in for me while I was away. I want to appeal to the people of Garissa, that come next general elections, she should be given the vote for Women Representative. view
  • 16 Sep 2020 in Senate: Thank you, very much Madam Deputy Speaker. I was a District Officer in Maseno in 1969 before some of you here were born. view
  • 16 Sep 2020 in Senate: The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor, Senate. view
  • 16 Sep 2020 in Senate: I remember very vividly as a young officer for the first time in my career, I saw somebody killed on the border of Vihiga and Kisumu. The agony here is that, it is not only the Maseno and Vihiga boundary issue; boundary issues are all over the country and many people have lost their lives. We even have places such as Kapedo and Baringo where many people have lost their lives. We also have Garissa, Marsabit and Ethiopia even though Ethiopia is another country altogether. Within Kenya itself, what is surprising is that, every other government has failed to resolve ... view
  • 16 Sep 2020 in Senate: All we need to do is to get the surveyors. When I was a Provincial Commissioner (PC) in the Rift Valley, I remember we reinstated the pillars of the boundary between Kenya and Ethiopia because we followed the maps that were there. Why are we not able to do the same thing in our own country? I do not think we need any legislation as such. It is just a question of determination and doing what is right for Kenyans. Madam Deputy Speaker, I can understand the feeling of my brother or rather my son - I can say - ... view
