Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. Yesterday, when this statement was sought, I had just left the House. The matter was again brought to my attention this morning at about 11.30 a.m. I personally took the initiative and walked to Harambee House. I went to see the Permanent Secretary. Unfortunately, she was not in. I went to the second person in command, Mr. Joseph Irungu, Deputy Principal, who was also attending a meeting at the Public Service Commission. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not have an explanation that can really satisfy this House as well as Kenyans regarding the prevailing insecurity in the country. To expect the Chairman to crack the whip is like expecting him to revive a dead person. I am saying this because I do not have the ability to do that. Mr. Speaker, Sir, I presume that those who declared public holidays were following Mr. Raila who had declared a public holiday for the whole Republic. Nothing has happened to him. Therefore, I do not know what will happen to the others. I stand guided.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. We congratulated you yesterday for making it possible for us to use this magnificent Chamber. But I also wish to make this further request on the parliamentary cards or whatever they are called. Many Members are finding it difficult to carry these cards to their homes because when they change their suits, they normally leave them behind.

But I also wish to make this further request on the parliamentary cards or whatever they are called. Many Members are finding it difficult to carry these cards to their homes because when they change their suits, they normally leave them behind.

Therefore, I would like to request if one of the clerk’s can be stationed somewhere and as we go out, we can leave the cards with them and pick them in the morning.
