I am raising a question relating to a Statement that I requested from the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government regarding the frequent fires in Gikomba. I requested that Statement on 21st October 2021. Since then there has been another fire in Gikomba and I am yet to get an answer from the Chair of the Departmental Committee dealing with national security. • 16 Nov 2021 in National Assembly: The merger is also informed by the intention to streamline effectiveness of the two institutions and cut costs for the taxpayer’s used in operation of the two institutions. Therefore, we will be running one institution rather than two. In 2011, Parliament restructured the Kenya National Human Rights and Equality Commission into three commissions. The functions of the National Gender and Equality Commission are stated to fall within the sphere of human rights.
