Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity. I rise to support this Bill. I will try my best not to repeat what the other Members have said. This Bill recognises the forms of governments – the national Government and the county governments. The money allocated to various vote heads in this Division of Revenue Bill is very important. The Senate really needs to fast-track this Bill to ensure that the leased medical equipment in hospitals is put in place so that Kenyans use them. Allow me to focus on the statutory allocation; the Constituencies Development Fund ...

I also want to focus on the money allocated to pay pension to retired teachers. At least this Bill has recognised the retired teachers. They are going to get something. As we talk about the retired teachers, we also need to see where the current teachers are in this Bill. It has become a song. Teachers have to go to the streets for their issues to be addressed. I believe the plight of the active teachers will be heard. I also want to comment on the money that is allocated for irrigation and buying fertilizer. All the voters, and especially ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate the Mover of this Motion. I stand to support the Motion that it is time for Prof. Kaimenyi to give room for someone else to step in and save the education of children in this country. We know that recently the Cabinet Secretary came up with a regulation that he wanted to be in charge of discipline of head teachers and principals in this country. We know that all teachers are meant to be under the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). There is no teacher who The electronic ...

Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this Motion. I also want to take this opportunity to thank hon. Wangwe for bringing here a Bill that is so important. We know that education is a right of every child in this country, and we have had several cases of many children of this country missing examinations simply because they could not afford to pay for the examinations. Those children went through school, that is from Class one to Class Eight and from Form One to Form Four, and missed examinations; it meant that ...

Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, just as Hon. Wanga has put across, this Bill is going to set free our children to sit for examinations and move to the next level. Even the sanitary towels we are talking about--- It will not be of any use to abolish examination fees and leave school girls without some of the basic needs. I am also telling the county governments that the national Government is going to abolish examination fees, and they should also look into ways of giving sanitary towels to our girls. We are going to abolish this fee, but teachers who ...
