Caroline Gaita - Executive Director

Caroline is a governance, communications and advocacy specialist with demonstrated success in leading and building sustainable programmes and strategic leadership in the governance, tourism, humanitarian and development sectors. She is an ardent advocate for the Constitutional promises of public participation, integrity, equality, devolution, access to justice and accountability. Her entry for the National Integrity Alliance won the best Public Affairs Campaign at the 2017 Public Relations Society of Kenya and the 2018 Africa SABRE Awards. She is a past facilitator for the Young Political Advisors (POLADS) and a member of the National Multi-Agency Working Group Task Force on school titling. She has previously worked at the Shule Yangu Alliance hosted by Transparency International-Kenya, the Commission for the Implementation of the Constitution (CIC), the Society for International Development and the Catholic Organization for Relief and Development Aid (CORDAID). She holds an M.A. in Development Studies, a BA in Political Science/Sociology and a Diploma in Public Relations among other professional qualifications.

Alex Ogutu - Programme Officer

Alex has extensive experience in program management, monitoring and evaluation, facilitation and advocacy, which draws from both civil society and private sector ecosystems. Part of his experience includes engagement with County Governments and County Assemblies, various National Government ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs), Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and international development agencies. He has previously worked with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), Baypal Consultancy Firm, Inmobia Mobile Technology and Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Development Services (ADS)- Nyanza. He is a holder of a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography degree. He is currently pursuing his doctorate degree (PhD) in Political Science at the University of Nairobi.

Sylvia Katua - Programme Assistant

Sylvia Katua is a lawyer by profession with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of Nairobi. She has a special interest in areas of human rights, governance, research and legislative issues. Prior to her employment, Katua was involved in carrying out Mzalendo’s Report on the Inclusion of Youth in the 11th and 12th Parliaments. She is a passionate Mooter having previously represented Kenya at the Philip C. Jessup Moot Court Competition in 2019 in Washington DC and in 2018, she came in second place at the All Africa Moot Competition. Katua is also a Certified Professional Mediator.

Loise Mwakamba - Communication Officer

Loise is a trained broadcast journalist with extensive knowledge in Digital Marketing. Her professional journey draws from her diverse experience from the corporate, media and civic space. She has dedicated her craft in content creation to making impactful stories that push for civic awareness. She holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Mass Communication majoring in Broadcast Journalism and Advertising and hopes to bridge the gap between Kenyans and MPs through various communication avenues.

Jefferson Gathumbi - Finance and Administration Officer

Jefferson is an accountant with a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, specializing in Finance from Strathmore University. He has extensive knowledge in the International Foreign Exchange Market and is interested in the evolving Financial Systems. He is currently undertaking his Certified Public Accountancy Studies. He has previously served as an accounts assistant at Kenya Education Management Institute.
