  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me an opportunity to comment on the Statement issued by the Chairman, Departmental Committee on Environment and Natural Resources. From the outset, I want to congratulate the Committee for a work well done. I did not get a chance to join the Committee when the Cabinet Secretary was giving a feedback on the Statement. I appreciate them because they looked for me and submitted the Report on time. Having gone through the Report, I want to confirm that it is a good one. I want to request the relevant Ministry to move with ... view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute. Mine will be brief. I think, I am the only county MP who is speaking to this. The NG-CDF is doing marvellous work in this country. It is a Fund that needs a lot of support where necessary so that it can be more efficient. The National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF) also needs support. It is also a national Government Fund which is also transforming lives in this country. Therefore, it needs a lot of support. view
  • 17 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: I congratulate the Special Funds Committee for the good Report. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I support. view
  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity to also say something about this Bill. I was waiting to speak to the next Motion. Nevertheless, I will also add my voice to the Public Finance Management (Amendment) Bill of the Senate. This Bill is necessary. It has come at the right time because it will give guidance on revenue collection and management. We have seen the lack of control in how revenue is collected and used in the counties. Therefore, it is key that we have this Bill in place. I support the Bill. Thank you for this opportunity. view
  • 12 Aug 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Pursuant to Standing Order No.44(2)(C), I wish to request for a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Environmental and Natural Resources regarding a sad case of incessant fires in national parks in the country and in particular, increased fire incidences in Tsavo Park. So far, it has experienced more than three incidences of fire outbreak in a span of three months. This year alone, in May, a fire destroyed vegetation in Tsavo East. In June and July, fire consumed more than 100 hectares in a vast conservation area. On 8th August 2020 at ... view
  • 5 Aug 2020 in National Assembly: Asante, Mhe. Naibu Spika wa Muda. Hata mimi naunga mkono. Kwa sasa tunao vijana wengi ambao wanahitaji kazi. Ninaunga mkono kwasababu hii sheria itapatiana mwelekeo mzuri. Asante. view
  • 12 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this timely Bill. I have heard several times that old is gold. Truly, old is gold. That is where there is wisdom. We have come across so many cases concerning our old people in the villages as we go about our day-to-day activities. We have come across cases of our old people living miserably, simply because they do not have other family members to take care of them. Some of them, maybe, lost family members through death while some of them never had children at all. ... view
  • 12 Mar 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Those older members of our society have special skills that we might not find anywhere else. I have come across older women who have weaving skills. If we do not take care of the older members of the society, we might never have the skills they have anymore. We should take care of them and give them a chance to pass the skills to the next generation. Those older members of our society know a lot of our history and culture and the best practices that were there before. If we support this Bill, ... view
  • 18 Feb 2020 in National Assembly: Shukrani Mhe.
